Brief Summary:
The Herdmans are a family of poor and thoroughly incorrigible (but terribly funny) children, who, hearing that you get lots of dessert at Sunday School, start attending. When it's time to cast for the Christmas play, the Herdmans get all the parts because everyone else is afraid to stand up to them. Craziness ensues and the whole neighborhood shows up to see just what will happen when the play is performed. Many people consider this one of the best Christmas books written. There is a sequel called The Best School Year Ever.
