For which mode(s) of transportation is this tip or activity appropriate?
Traveling by car (or bus)

Describe this trip activity or tip:
On one sheet of paper per child, draw a bingo-type board or a tic-tac-toe board. On each square of the board(s) draw, print, or paste a picture of something you might see while on the trip. Each child's board should be different. When the child finds something on their board, it should be marked. The first to fill a row, or their whole board, wins.

Other comments or suggestions to consider:
You will probably want to make extra copies of each board made. Also, if you want, it can be played just for fun rather than competitively.
Some ideas for things to put on the board: common objects-barn, tree, etc.; animal likely encountered-horse, cow, etc.; vehicle-train, plane, tractor, certain color or type car, etc.; license plate of states you'll be traveling through; restaurant signs (even two year olds recognize the golden arches!); letters of the alphabet.
