For which mode(s) of transportation is this tip or activity appropriate?
Traveling by train
Describe this trip activity or tip:
We recently took our 3 year old daughter on the train from PA to IN. She met other kids around her age almost immediately on the train and they played the whole time. I brought a huge bag of toys that actually turned out to be a bad idea. All the kids from the car wanted to search through the bag. There were toys everywhere and it got a little out of control. If you plan to take your child on the trian, you can anticipate them probably meeting a playmate, so don't pack as many toys. Things that worked well: markers, stampers, scissors and regular paper, not coloring books, play makeup and doctor's kit, pop-up and lift-a-flap books. A play tea set was popular. Don't bring anything that has to be shared, like a kid Walkman or electronic toy. Naturally, bring a pillow, small blanket, and favorite bed buddy.
