For which mode(s) of transportation is this tip or activity appropriate?
Traveling by plane

Describe this trip activity or tip:
I saved up special treats such as a new box of crayons or markers along with a new coloring book, a new reading book for the older siblings (according to their favorite topics), a throw away camera, package of gum (their favorite), a sweet treat, and a new hand held game or toy. These I placed in a book-bag backpack. My children were so busy at the airport terminal and on the plane that they forgot to tease and fight. It worked GREAT!!

Other comments or suggestions to consider:
Don't forget to pack healthy snacks and juice & water drinks as kids always get "hungry" at the most inconvenient times. Candy & pop machines are expensive and add an unwanted energy high to your children. Try handy-snacks such as cheese & crackers, graham crackers & applesauce, celery & peanutbutter. Fruit bowls by Dole is also a great take-a-long snack. Juice boxes are small and easy to finish in little time. Beef jerky is a good chewing snack.
