Describe this trip activity or tip:
Try to plan travel overnight or through nap times. Wear your kids out prior to the trip so they'll sleep during it, (this may mean they're a little grumpier during preparations/boarding). Make sleep easier by bringing a favorite blanket, pillow, or doll. Plan quiet activity for yourself. DO bring child safety seats for little ones (safer & easier to sleep in a seat shaped for the child and familiar to the child).

Other comments or suggestions to consider:
A little cough syrup never caused any harm to anyone. If you need an excuse - it'll ensure that they aren't congested during a flight - more comfort for ear popping.

Plus, just think of all the germs you encounter while traveling publicly. My kids invariably catch a cold after so much public contact.
