Describe this trip activity or tip:
A family member chooses a general category like, colors or animals. The member who chooses the category starts first and says a color, i.e., 'blue'. Each family member takes a turn going clockwise or counterclockwise saying a color. If it's a player's turn and he/she can't think of anymore colors under an agreed to time limit, that person sits out until the other players can't name anymore. The winner is the player who last contributed an answer.
Other comments or suggestions to consider:
With children, be generous with time limits. Agree to a time limit by counting 10 "Mississippis" or by singing a song like the "Jeopardy" theme song. Some popular categories are: colors, animals, words that start with "S", names of fruits, vegetables, people's names, their friend's names, family member's names, classmate's names, place names like countries, or state capitals.
