For which mode(s) of transportation is this tip or activity appropriate?
Traveling by train

Describe this trip activity or tip:
Chug along smoothly on your next train ride armed with a first-rate activity bag. Leave noisy toys at home and pack items such as a book about trains or a book describing the cities and states that you'll be traveling through. Bring crayons and paper along and see who can draw the best train car or draw the different landmarks you see along the way. Pack some miniature toy train cars (like the Thomas-the-Tank-Engine and Friends train set) to play with and teach your kids about the types of train cars from the engine to caboose.

Other comments or suggestions to consider:
Bring a map along to chart your journey along with your kids!
