Describe this trip activity or tip:
Long trips can be difficult for children of any age. This tip helps to break up the time. I made bags for each of my children for each hour they would be in the car. I used plain brown lunch bags so they couldn't see inside. I put in a snack or treat, an activity book, toys from fast food places, crayons, paper, a cd or necklace for older kids, etc. You can decide how much or little to put in the bag. Then I folded the top over and kept them with me in the car. At the appointed time, each child chooses their bag to open.

Other comments or suggestions to consider:
Most children enjoy surprises, so this idea is great and can be adjusted for age, likes and dislikes, the type of trip, cost, etc.
