Age group(s) for this celebration activity:
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School
Middle School
High School & Beyond

Description of this celebration activity:
Create a family crest with a portion of the design allotted for each family member. Each portion would symbolize that person's interests , abilities or accomplishments.

Setting up and preparing for this celebration activity:
The crest could be made of poster board with various materials glued to it or it could be something more permanent, using masonite board and fabrics.

Other suggestions or comments:
If there are, say, five people in a family, five equal but differently colored sections can be given to each person to decorate and then glued to the base shield shape. Or the family can merely make a collage that symbolizes all of them. Foot prints or hand prints could make a fun crest.
