Materials:
glass jar
tissue paper, greeting cards, photos, pictures from magazines
craft glue
water
paintbrush
spray gloss shellac

Instructions:
Clean jar. Tear tissue paper, greeting cards, and magazine pictures into small pieces. You also may cut a few shapes. Mix 9 parts glue with one part water. Use paintbrush to apply glue to an area 4-6 square inches. Press paper against the jar. Continue applying glue and paper to cover the outside of the jar. If you use a photo, overlap some of the paper onto the edges of the photo. After the glue is dry, apply the shellac as directed on the can.

Other comments or suggestions to consider:
You're limited only by your imagination with this type of project.
Younger kids will need help brushing on the glue.
Adults should apply the shellac.
