Gingerbread Boy/Girl Spoon Rest

Estimated time to make this gift:
Approximately one hour.

Materials:
Clay
Gingerbread boy cookie cutter
Toothpicks
Small Bowl
Glaze

Instructions:
1. Roll the clay out flat to about a 1/4-inch thickness.
2. Use cookie cutter and cut out shape.
3. Moisten fingertips and smooth out edges.
4. Use toothpicks to shape out the eyes, smile and buttons in the clay.
Give the girl a little apron.
5. Lay boy or girl gingerbread into the bottom of a small bowl for concave shape. Just make sure that part of the bottom is flat so that the spoon rest will lay flat on kitchen counter when dry.
6. When dry, fire in kiln. (Any pottery place with do this for you.)
7. Finish with glossy glaze of your choice.

This project is easy, fun and can be personalized by adding the name of the person to the gingerbread girl or boy.
