3 Star Idea Rating

Age group(s) for this birthday party activity:
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School

Cost of birthday party activity:
Cost of spray paint for the party decorations and I also purchased the party hats.

Birthday party planning information:
Several months before my daughter's party, I started making the decorations. I 'borrowed' 2 large empty appliance boxes from the neighbor's trash and spray painted them silver and black to look like castle towers. I made wands out of cardboard with a silver star on the end. I cut up an old maid of honor gown and glued a strip of fabric on the top of each hat to resemble a princess hat.

Other suggestions or comments:
Although I did make a castle cake one year, for some reason it was for a different party, but the cake truly looked like a castle with cake cones for the towers, licorice for the drawbridge and those little round candies you pull off the white paper to decorate the cake all over. This is a nice touch for the castle party. Also, with the cardboard wands, I didn't have to worry about anyone getting stabbed.
