Birthday party planning information:
The stores can charge up to $5 each for balloon weights. You know the ones, they are usually sand filled cups wrapped with foil paper and ribbon. Making them yourself is much cheaper! Simply buy plastic cups and a roll of decorative foil paper. Fill the cups with sand, dirt, dry rice, dry beans - anything really will work. Place a large piece of decorative foil paper over the opening of the cup. Carefully turn the cup upside down and tie with ribbon. These weights can be used to tie balloons to, to hold down table covers or anything else you need to have held down.
