Birthday party planning information:
Maisy fans appreciate bright colors...and good Food. The party ware (plates, napkins, cups) available for Maisy features primary bright colors, the more the better.
Check out the Mickey and Minnie ideas for some ideas; Finger Foods rule. Sandwiches, crackers, cupcakes.
While you can make a Mouse cupcake, frosted white, with a chocolate chip nose, mini choc. chip eyes, (split) licorice lace whiskers, another choc. chip for a mouth, and 2 chocolate cookie wafers for ears....it won't look Exactly like Maisy! Perhaps your child won't notice, but Maisy's schnoz is hard to replicate in a cupcake ;-)
Better to stick with Balloons; Maisy would wholeheartedly approve! Either frost a one-layer cake, and use Sunkist fruit gems or large upside-down gumdrops for balloons (w/licorice laces for strings), OR frost cupcakes in Many Colors, arrange 'em on a plate to look like balloons, and arrange licorice laces on the plate to look like balloon strings.
How shall Maisy entertain her young friends? With very simple games, ranging from Peek-a-boo to Beanbag Toss. Toss beanbags from parent to child, up in the air, or into a coffee can---Thunk! If you don't want to use beanbags, toss rolled Socks ;-)
Bubbles---indoors, or out.
Music---soft melodies at times, or a bit of Dance Music now and then. Wave colorful scarves to the beat. (Check thrift stores for the Chiffon thangs, in sherbet colors.)
Beach Balls---roll 'em, toss 'em.
Books---Maisy books---reading and listening time, on soft quilts, indoors or out.
Decorate a cardboard appliance crate, or borrow several card tables, to make a super-duper "mouse house" for Let's Pretend.
Play "the Farmer in the Dell" and other circle games. Make sure a Parent ends up being "the Cheese."
Other suggestions or comments:
Party Favors: at this age, not much is needed! Perhaps a fresh container of Soap Bubbles, or one of the Beach Balls. Any little thing makes kids happy at this time.
