4 Star Idea Rating

Age group(s) for this birthday party activity:
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School

Cost of birthday party activity:
Minimal. Cost of food served and makeup items for glamour bags. Most of the items for the glamour bags can be gotten at the local "Dollar Store" (make-up kits, nail polish, hair accessories) or samples from cosmetic counters or cosmetic salesperson (Avon, Mary Kay, etc).

Birthday party planning information:
Get out all of those clothes that are too little! I put out dresses, old prom dresses, etc., hats, gloves, old costume jewelry, purses, and high heel shoes. If you don't have these things already, garage sales and flea markets are good places to find them. Usually, just cleaning out your closet will do!

Other suggestions or comments:
I printed out invitations on paper that had tea pots all around it. I bought extra sheets to use for scrapbook.

Each girl picked out her outfit and dressed up. A friend and I then did their hair & applied make-up. After all the girls were dressed, they did a fashion show and I made Polaroid pictures for each to take home. Then they sat down to "tea". Each small table had its own tea set. I had decorated the cake to look like a tea table, complete with miniature tea set. Afterwards, a "Glamour Bag" with make-up and hair accessories was given to each girl to take home. Each bag was personalized as "Girl's Name" Glamour Bag. The girls had a ball! They especially loved wearing the hats!! I had many compliments from parents because their child had so much fun!
