Other suggestions or comments:
When the kids arrived, I gave them old aprons and handkerchiefs for their heads. They dusted and cleaned my living room. Then the door bell rang and there was a basket of invitations to the ball, one adressed to each girl. I, the fairy godmother, sprinkled the girls with fairy dust.
I had a closet filled with old prom and wedding dresses, shoes, makeup, and jewelry. Using a deck of cards, each girl picked a card to see who would go next, after the birthday girl.
When the girls went to get dressed for the ball, I took out a bag full of balloons and streamers to decorate for the ball. When they came out, music was playing. They danced. Tea and cookies where served. When the clock struck 12:00 (or 5:00 pm), each girl left behind a shoe and ran to put their rags back on. When they returned, they had a loot bag with candy and prizes that surrounded the Cinderella theme (crowns). Just when they thought they were done, I escorted them into the dining room, where they each had their own cake to frost and decorate for their wedding. Each girl got a bride and groom to place on top of her cake.

Most items where purchased at our local "Dollar Store". Each girl got to take home a feather duster, loot bag, bottle of fairy dust, and their wedding cake.

I heard rave reviews from several moms when they came to pick up their daughters.
