Birthday party planning information:
If your child loves the outdoors, a nature center can be a great place to spend a birthday. Depending on the type of nature center, parties can be customized to fit any age group and any child's special interest. Most offer storytimes and feature live animals that children can touch. Some offer nature walk scavenger hunts or may have a specialty, such as jam making, that might translate into a creative party idea.

Your best bet is to go down to your local nature center and spend some time with the naturalists to create your customized celebration. Most centers are accomodating to individual requests and allow you to bring in cake, ice cream and birthday decorations.
