Birthday party planning information:
Museum-based birthday parties provide a fun way to celebrate and learn, especially if your child has a particular interest or one you'd like to encourage. Most museums offer exhibits for all age groups. If you're planning a party for preschool-aged kids, hands-on exhibits (for example, at an aquarium with marine animals) are great. Arts and crafts projects or rides (say, in a space ship or carousel) can provide lots of fun as well.

Older children may enjoy 3-D simulated theater presentations or a theme party such as "How To Build Your Own Prehistoric Creature." Most museums are very accommodating, allowing you to bring in cake, ice cream and birthday decorations.
