Elementary School

Instructions for using this strategy:
My reluctant reader and I share the reading task. I will read 2 or 3 pages to his 1, depending on the difficulty of the book. This helps to get him to the point of wanting to know what happens next. He also seems to increase his reading speed when he knows his turn will be over.

What is the benefit to the child with reading problems?
This helps my child have the model of a fluent reader. It also helps him to become involved in the story.
