Estimated time:

Number of servings:

Ingredients: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
2 refrigerated pie crusts (the folded kind, not in a pie plate)
your favorite jam or preserves
1 egg
2 Tbsp. water
sugar (for sprinkling on top)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Wisk together the egg and water in a small bowl and set aside.
Unfold the pie crusts and cut each into quarters, making 8 wedges.
Place 1 Tbsp. jam or preserves on half of each crust wedge.
Fold unfilled sides of wedges over filling.
With a fork, press edges to seal.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Brush the top of each wedge with the egg wash (discard any leftover egg wash) and sprinkle a little sugar on top.
Make little slits/holes in the top of each turnover with a knife or fork.
Bake for 12-14 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
Let cool before eating...filling will be VERY hot.
Enjoy!

Other suggestions and comments:
We used a pizza cutter to cut the crusts into quarters...my kids thought that was fun! Adult supervision is essential for young kids using this recipe...the oven, knife, and hot filling could be trouble areas for the little chef.
