Preparation takes approximately 1 hour, cooks in about 30 minutes.

Number of servings:
Serves about 6

Ingredients: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
4 medium peeled or unpeeled cooking apples, sliced (about 4 cups)
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup quick-cooking or regular oats
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened

Directions:
Heat the oven to 375°.
Spread the apple slices in an ungreased 8-inch square pan.
Mix remaining ingredients with fork; sprinkle over apples.
Bake uncovered until the topping is golden brown and apples are tender.

Other suggestions and comments:
You should be in charge of cutting up the apples. Your child can have fun laying out the apples in the pan and help you measure and mix all of the other ingredients.
