Appetizers

Estimated time:
10 minutes (cutting/arranging fruit takes more time ;-)

Even basic Apple Slices, in red and green, look attractive!

Ingredients: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
*16 oz. sour cream

light brown sugar

cinnamon

nutmeg

Directions:
Put the sour cream into a mixing bowl (at least quart size). Stir/whisk small amounts of brown sugar into the sour cream until it tastes sufficiently sweet; add spices in small increments to taste.

Other suggestions and comments:
This easily adaptable 'recipe' comes from the students at a successful college-level culinary arts program. Mommabear saw these folks hard at work (chefs hats n' all!) at a supermarket Fresh Fruits demonstration. Everyone kept asking "what's in the dip?!!"
I am sure these guys were still muttering it in their sleep, hours later: "it's just sour cream, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg..."

Reduce the fat/calorie content by using low fat sour cream. You can try non-fat if you prefer; in our family, that just means everyone tends to eat twice as much of it.
