Description of method:
An intensive behavior modification program. The aim is to teach the child adult toilet habits that he/she will use independently (without reminders or rewards). It involves a one-day intensive training program, during which the parent(s) spend time -- without distractions -- in teaching a child all the elements of using the toilet. Parents use positive motivators (verbal praise, snacks, kissing, the approval of ôfriends who careö) to get the child to follow directions and eventually initiate action. Penalties include parental disapproval by making a child clean up after accidents and repeated practice of incompletely learned skills.

Recommended age for this method:
Anywhere from two years up.

How long should it take for child to be potty trained by this method?
