Description of technique for teaching kids the value of money:
Buy the book-A Penny Saved by Neale S. Godfrey!!!!
She teaches the value of money and skills to live in the real world that we can do at home! From what to pay the kids, what are chores and what are household expectations to paying taxes, saving for long term goals and short term spending and charity.

Other comments or suggestions:
You can't go wrong with this book. I bought it after seeing the author on Oprah. I have instituted many of her skills with my children ages 8 and 12 starting when they were first in kindergarten. They know that net worth and self worth are two different things. The book also deals with age changes-appropriate chores for different ages, expectations for different ages and teaching them skills they will need in their life away from us. I couldn't recommend a better book!!!!
