I recently started my second year at a university. I am now seriously considering transferring to a more competitive school. The problem is, when I was deciding on schools, I had a limited selection because of certain issues. Because my current school did not require SAT IIs, I did not take them. I had not realized they were important for applying to competitive schools. So now, as a transfer applicant, can I take the SAT IIs after completing a year and a half of college? Or will my good grades show that I am a capable student in a college environment?
You can inquire about the specific admissions requirements of transfer students by checking the websites of the colleges where you would like to apply. Many colleges concern themselves more with your track record in the first two years of college than the pre-college process. However, each school is different. The important quality that you can show is that you are dedicated to persisting academically. Be specific about this in your essay and in your interview and be candid about your why you didn't take the SAT II in high school. They will appreciate knowing your path and your journey.
