I am considering having both my son and daughter homeschooled. This year they will be attending what I believe to be one of the worst high schools in California. It's filled with violence, gangs, and drugs. It's horrible! About how much would it cost me to have them schooled at home while I'm at work? Or, if I can find a group in the area, about how much would that cost?

Generally speaking, homeschooling is usually done by a parent, guardian, or family friend. By high-school age, most students are able to work independently, requiring only occasional supervision by an adult. The parent assumes the role of facilitator, offering guidance, encouragement, and assistance when needed.

You'll find a list of independent study programs that may work for your kids if you, a relative, or a friend are willing to provide the necessary help and support they require.
