10 Tips to Reduce the Risk of SIDS

According to the National Institutes of Health, over 2,000 babies die in the U.S. each year from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Ninety percent of SIDS deaths occur before a baby reaches 6 months of age, but can occur anytime during a baby's first year. While the exact cause of SIDS remains unknown, many babies die from suffocation, entrapment, strangulation, and unsafe sleep environments. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends the following tips to help create a safe sleep environment and reduce the risk of SIDS to your baby.
