Tips to Skip Bedtime Struggles
Set a specific time for bed and stick with it.
Give a Warning
Give your child advance notice that the day is winding down.
Offer a Snack
A small snack with carbohydrates and protein will help induce sleep and help her stay asleep. Be sure to brush her teeth before bed.
A Warm Bath
A warm bath is soothing and will help your child relax.
Dress your child for bed in comfortable pajamas that aren't too hot or too light.
Read a story together. This is a very comforting part of the bedtime routine for toddlers, especially when they start to recognize a familiar or favorite book.
Make sure your child has her favorite doll to cuddle.
Keep "Good Nights" Brief
Say "good night" and leave the room while your child is still awake. Stay calm and don't return right away if she calls for you.
