Paint the House

Dress your preschool child up and tell her that today she is a housepainter.

Paint the House

Materials

  • Paintbrush
  • Bucket of water
  • Painter's cap

Directions

  1. Give your child a clean paintbrush, a bucket full of water, and a painter's cap and let her paint the outside of the house, the car, or the sidewalk.
  2. Not only will your child feel proud of doing grown-up stuff, she will actually do something useful in the process, and get fresh air and exercise in addition.
  3. If your child is old enough to think that painting with water is silly, put some soap into the water and tell her she is washing the house. (In this case, you may not want her to wash the car; it could result in soap streaks.)
