Take a plain, store-bought lampshade, and then add some personality by decorating it yourself.

- Inexpensive, plain cardboard lamp shades
- Felt-tipped markers or paint markers
- Paint
- Old fabric
- Glue
- Fringe
Directions
Put out the possible decoration supplies and let your child decide on how the lamp shade will be decorated. If you plan to put it in a bedroom, you might want to talk about color schemes, or put out only the paint or fabric that would match the room.
