Paper Dipping Art Activity for Kids

Dip and Dabble Art

Materials

  1. Paper towels or coffee filters
  2. Muffin pan
  3. Food coloring
  4. Water

Directions

Mix the food coloring with some water in the muffin pan so your child has three or four colors to choose from. Fold the paper or filter any way your child wants, then dip the corners briefly into the colors. The paper will soak up the color. Fold again and stick the dry corner into the colored water. Let the paper dry before unfolding, otherwise it might tear. Experiment with different folds or try crumpling the paper before dipping it into the colors. Press the papers flat and mount on cardboard. Food color stains the fingers, so try to dip the paper, not the hands.
