Even 20 minutes without sunscreen is dangerous. You will still get vitamin D with it on. Better safe than melanoma!

Always avoid sun exposure mid-day, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunscreen does interfere with Vitamin D production.

The presence of Vitamin D in diet is very essential as for forming strong bones. It helps the body use calcium from the diet. Traditionally, vitamin D deficiency has been associated with rickets, a disease in which the bone tissue doesn't properly mineralize, leading to soft bones and skeletal deformities. A regular intake with sunbath is adequate for vit.D supplement.

You can treat and avoid vitamin D deficiency with at least 15 minutes of sun exposure daily. You can also be more conscience to incorporate in your diet whole foods, meats such as liver, egg yolks, fortified milk, and other dairy products, which are a good source of vitamin D.

Only sun exposure does no good to the body if you are already in the deficient category. You need to take supplements for it and also eat dairy products, meats and egg yolk to the deficiency to go.
