Is it safe to eat sushi when you are pregnant?

You shouldn't eat any raw fish during pregnancy because it could contain parasites. And then there is the whole problem with fish in general (even cooked) that has high levels of mercury or other toxins. But you could eat cooked kinds of sushi. Or vegetarian sushi. But speaking of the mercury and toxins and fish - I find it so confusing. I tend to have avoided fish altogther just to be safe during my pregnancy. Does anyone know what kinds of fish are DEFINITELY safe during pregnancy?

Hi April

I am so that we know about the dangers of mercury in fish now, it was something that wasn't even addressed when I was pregnant with my daughter all those years ago.

We have an article on mercury and fish, check it out.
