Hello, everyone this is Tammy!
I have a question and need help. My child is currently in the Kindergarten, the Principal at the school feels that my may not get promoted to the 1st grade next year, because he needs to be redirected on some assignments. I've had several discussions with the teacher regarding this matter, but shw stated that he was showing better progress. I've had him tested for ADD and the doctor stated that he was fine. My son understands his work, but performs slower. The teacher and the principal are not on the same page of thinking. I had to ask for additional group help for my child because it was not offered.

Schedule a conference for April with at least the four of you--the teacher, parents, principal, and any other professionals the school district might have. See how he is doing then. It could be that the first grade teachers are the impatient sort, and even though your boy may be ready for first grade work, the first grade teachers are not a good fit for him.

Get yourself a good program that is going to help you help him to do the best he can. Find out his learning style and try to tailor homework to that. Success starts early. I have a K-12 program that has done wonders for my brother's girl, and I seriously can't stop saying enough about it. I'm so pleased with her progress, and we were really worried about her!! check out Academy One. Seriously. Google it:)
