New Kid in small town

Has anyone had this issue?  I am new to a small town and have a 5 and 11 year old.  I have tried several times to get involved with this school but am treated like a outsider.  I have even made an attempted to go and have lunch one day with my 5 year old and was not able to because the teacher was not told 24 to 48 hours in advance.  This to me was a little strange.  I have been through the volunteer training, spoke with the Principle, Vice Principle and his Teacher and ask if I could help with anything but still no go.  I have noticed other parents helping when I go and pick my child up but I can't seem to get my foot in the door. Does anyone have any advise?  Stay at Home Mom just trying to help.

Join the P.T.O. and volunteer will any fundraisers.Better yet, come up with some ideas of your fun magazine had some good ideas.Schools are always looking for money! good luck.

Oh forgot to mention that I did join the PTA and personally spoke with the President and told her I would love to help with anything.  I was the PTA president at my son's previous school so that is why I am having a hard time understanding why no one wants my help. We were always looking for good help.  Anyway your idea about coming up with some fundraising ideas  maybe a good answer.  I subscribe to family fun magazine myself and think it is a great magazine. Thanks for the advise.
