my husband has been accused of touching my 16 year old daughter inappropriately

My daughter,16, told her boyfriend that my husband, her stepfather has touched her on 4 different occassions. Two times on the buttocks, once on the breast and once on her legs. The boyfriend told the school social worker and from there dss showed up. My husband was forced to leave our home and says he never touched my daughters. He is now incarcerated with four felony counts of indecent liberties with a minor. At this point, i don't know what to believe. I know my daughter hates my husband as he has told me alot of things one being that she was seeing a 33 year old man of which i later caught her kissing that very same man and pressed charges she was only 12 at the time. She is only nice towards him if she wants something to benefit herself and when he does it for her, she says he is the best stepfather ever. However, since this inident bas occurred, her story has cbanged numerous times and she says it always happened when i was home never at work. I love them both dearly and i am on the verge of having a nervous breakdown. Any suggestions would be helpful...

I think you need to find a support group. Somebody to talk this through with. You are going to have to examine your own memory and figure out which one is most likely telling the truth. One or the other of them is a horrible person. Maybe even both of them. This has got to be the most difficult thing to go through. I am so sorry.

double post

I agree with need some outside perspective. I would recommend seeing a professional counselor who can give some advice on what to do here to keep everyone safe and try to sort through what is really the truth in this situation. I'm so sorry...this is so tough for you, no matter which one is being truthful. Do you know of someone you can go to? Through my workplace (Focus on the Family), we offer a free consultation with a professional counselor, and they can recommend someone in your area, too, if needed. If you want to give them a call, the number is 855-771-4357. I hope you can get to the bottom of this, and that the truth will come out. In the meantime, hang in there, and keep us posted, k?

Thank you both for the advice. I am trying to maintain my sanity despite all of this. I failed to mention in my earlier post that i hired a polygraph examiner to come into my home 2 days after dss informed me of these allegations. He said my daughter tested truthful. However, the detective handling the case says he is a fraud and i should file a civil suit to get my money back. He has not submitted any information to the police as to how my daughter passed and says if he had known i was going to involve the cops he would never have performed the test as he thought it was a family matter. How could he not believe that i would take action when it comes to my child??? This whole situation is driving me crazy!!
