Losing weight after baby

I gave birth to my beautiful DS a year and a half ago. I gained 40 pounds during my pregnancy and managed to take the first 20 off while breastfeeding during the first 6 months. The next 10 came off gradually, but I can't get rid of these last ten stubborn pounds! I have been dieting and exercising. Although I admit sticking to the exercise has been tough. I probably do 2-3 days of jogging on the treadmill each week. I also try to walk as much as possible in my daily routine. I think I may never get rid of this belly - I look like I'm 3 months pregnant. Anyone have any advice?

I really don't have any advise. Just to let you know you are not alone. with my first i took off most of my weight except for 15lbs. Then got pregnant again. This time around I was able to get right back to my wight 3 months later. Which is great. But I'm having a hard time getting those last 15lbs off.

Is there someone you can walk with everyday. I know i do really good when my sister can walk with us everyday.

Good luck and I will be sendin you good vibs.

I know sit ups helps you lose belly fat. But I also heard that if you become a vegetarian for a while you lose more weight. Instead of fried foods maybe you can bake it. Instead of meat try chicken. And eat at least 5 or 6 portions a day. like a meal and then a snack. Maybe that will help. Im going to try this too after I give birth. But good luck to you both and I will let you know if I lost the weight.

Be sure to wait at least 6 weeks after the birth before you start doing sit-ups again.

Have you tried circuit training? I experienced the same thing and after my 3rd baby I pretty much resigned myself to the 'new' shape i was in. But then last year I dropped into a circuit training class at my local gym, just out of curiosity. I wanted to prove to myself that could do something alone with out a friend to back me up so I went along. The class was SO hard. I was completely knackered at the end of it but I went back to the next class later that week. My whole body hurt for days afterwards but the toning and loss of fat as noticeable by week 4. Now i swear by circuit training, I've always been pretty good when it comes to food, so a low fat high protein diet is natural for me, but the all over workout of circuit training has been terrific, much better than just running as you work you arms, back and core as well.you have to work harder but for less time than it takes to go running 3 -4 times a week.

That's a great idea! I think I'll give it a go. I go to the gym 3 times a week but if I'm honest with myself I don;t work all that hard. I'd rather go there less and spend less time there so the idea of circuit training in a group of people is a good idea. thanks for that!

Wheat belly! This is a book written by a doctor who know his stuff. At first it is hard but so worth it. You just cut out sugars and wheat for a little while. My husband lost 40 pounds in a month and he wasn't morbidly obese or anything. I finally decided to try it after I couldn't loose the baby weight with my second. I lost 15 pounds in two weeks. The great thing is I just ate really healthy, I could eat as much healthy food I wanted, and minimal excersise. I promise if your strict just two weeks you'll loose your ten pounds. Just google it and you'll see. Good luck!

My advice would be to start a blog, I think it's a great way to express yourself and log your meals and exercise. It's also perfect because you'll get support and advice from other women that are going through exactly what you are. I also found that it was beneficial to start doing fitness DVD's. That way I could exercise when the baby was napping. Not to mention I felt way too self-conscious to work out in front of people! I use Les Mills Pump Deluxe program. ( Step is my favorite)and I would highly recommend it to any mothers out there. It's a tough workout but nothing that you can't handle. There's also low intensity yoga stretches that you can do in the early morning or evening if you don't have time to fit in a full workout. I find it helps me deal with stress as well as shedding the baby weight.

After giving birth, my wife used to have those fats in belly, but she lost weight and got rid of them after she has gone diet and some sort of exercise, she has become a vegetarian, and it was effective, and now I enjoy touching her flat belly. haha
