How are you affected by the financial crisis, and what are you doing to prepare?

Our country is on the brink of a financial crisis unlike any other it has seen in decades. How is the news affecting your family? Are you doing anything to prepare for the fallout?

I always keep staples and canned goods on hand so I can minimize the grocery bill in a pinch. (You can grow lettuce in a windowsill!) I also checked a book out of the library to learn how to do Excel so I will be more employable if I have to get a paying job.

Well, I work for a bank so times are stressful! I am doing what I have always done... I buy only what i can afford with cash. I don't have credit cards and I am virtually debt free. Why do people have to have more than they can afford? I can't understand the greed and vanity.

We're trying to cut back on spending all around, although it's hard b/c we've always lived on a small budget. It's very disturbing that our country has reached such a low.

I am working at getting a year supply...making sure I rotate...about every 6 months...just add extra to the cart on sale price days...traveling less...limit the $ I pay at the pump ($25.00 or $30.00) for in town driving...only a quarter tank for traveling to the doctor for around trip...I do a lot of walking too!

I have read a few books that I think have some helpful advice on saving money and being more frugal/smart with your money. The Total Money Makeover and Financial Peace Revisted by Dave Ramsey Miserly Moms by Jonni McCoy The SoapsGoneBy website shows how to make homemade laundry detergent for $.02 per load. I haven't tried it yet, but a couple friends swear by it. That's my 2 cents.

almost evicted twice from our was raised to stop it...but I am worried about how I am going to handle the rest of the bills...I can't prepare without a I am in a real pickle. later donna

Financial services have been rising with the economic crisis and people like Aaron DelSignore can really help companies with financial advice not to mention that consultancy firms are making tons of money.
