advice on curriculum for 4th grader

I am looking for advice on which curriculum to use for a 4th grade girl. I would like to put together my own group of different products and need your opinions which are the best in each area of education.

I like free resources. See if your state education office offers lesson plans online, mine does. I only paid for a math program and a "typing" program. Literature, I bought a sample lesson guide from a store that has a home-schooling section, and the student developed her own lesson guides for the library books that we used.

Sorry, I don't have any experience with pre-packaged curriculum. This year my kids were in grades 2 and 3. We mostly used books from the library, free internet worksheets and a few books from Barnes and Noble. Before the year began I sat down and decided what I wanted to teach and when I wanted to teach it. Then before each lesson began, I gathered the materials we would be using. This worked well for us. I hope someone comes along who can answer your question a little better than I have.

websites for teachers, state education websites, ask your local school district...find other parents homeschooling where they got there curriculum and materials...I tutor science and english to 4th graders...I got some materials and advice from retired teachers...also I got some teacher editions in a thrift store and yard sales...I hope I helped...donnaj L-)
