Computer Costume

Follow these simple instructions to make a Computer costume for Halloween.

Computer Costume

Time: 2-3 days

Effort: Easy — no sewing required

Materials:

  • Large cardboard box
  • Strips of Velcro
  • Computer-colored paint (black, gray or white)
  • Blank white stickers
  • Black permanent marker
  • Old computer mouse

Instructions: Cut a hole in the top of box for your child's head (the flaps of the box should be on top). Cut a hole in each side of the box for armholes. Cut the bottom of the box out.

Paint the box with the computer-colored paint. Let dry for at least 24 hours. (Put on an extra coat of paint if needed.) Put Velcro on the top flaps to make it easier to get in and out, and to hold the flaps in place.

Draw the computer screen on the front of the box with permanent marker. Draw a keyboard below the screen. Write a Halloween message on the computer screen, if you'd like. (For example, write "Welcome to the Web!" and draw a spider web.) Glue an old computer mouse to one side of the keyboard.
