Ever get a gift and think , yeah thanks but no thanks. Then discover that the gift is awesome and you are shocked you ever didn't want it? Photobucket My parents bought these books for my son ages ago, and I was not pleased at first. I judged a book by it's cover. I have been put in my place every night or so for over a year. My son reads one of the collection about that often, and I love them too. In this Amazing Machines series they cover submarines, tractors, airplanes, trains, fire engines, boats and more! Photobucket Author Tony Mitton is a rhyming super star! He entertains and informs the reader about each vehicle, how they work and what they are used for in each book. Ant Parker's adorable cartoon illustrations are bright and fun but still manage to support the information with realistic representations of the text. Of course the rabbits and birds driving trains and forklifts aren't realistic but they sure are fun! Photobucket So I take back my snap judgment , these books are fantastic and for a child like my son who has just discovered a love for making up rhymes and since become preoccupied with it they are perfect !
