Did you know August is National Breastfeeding Month, and this week is World Breastfeeding Week?

It is, and in honor of it, we’re doing a giveaway!

Breastfeeding has long been known to have many benefits, and past studies have shown breast milk can protect a baby against childhood illnesses such as stomach viruses, asthma, and ear infections, saving both lives and money.

And new research offers even more incentive to give it breastfeeding a shot. A study recently published in the journal Pediatric ssuggests it may also significantly reduce the risk of a sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

Researchers found that there was a 73 percent reduction in the risk of SIDS when breast milk was an infant’s sole source of nutrition for any duration. Even when supplemented with formula, a baby’s risk was still slashed by 60 percent.

If you ask us, those are pretty good reasons to consider breastfeeding your child!
