Allison McDonald is a former preschool teacher who now spends her days learning with her 3-year-old son and baby daughter. She lives in the Seattle area with her husband and two children.

While we were packing up the old house our water table was our saving grace. My daughter could happily play for what seemed like forever. One problem though was that I wanted the toys to dry out before packing them to move. My solution was to make more toys with recycled yogurt cups. Of course my toddler moves too fast to get good pictures !

You will need some yogurt cups, a hole punch ( or a nail and hammer) and a permanent marker.

Number your containers.

Punch the same number of holes as the number displayed.

I used a hole punch because I didn't  want to have to carefully snip off any sharp corners from using a nail/ hammer. I had to fold to make some of the holes but these cups were thin enough.

Play!
