The Council for Exceptional
Children(CEC) : CEC is the largest international professional organization
dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with
exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates
for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides
continual professional development, advocates, and helps professionals obtain
conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.
The International Dyslexia Association: The latest
information on dyslexia, including early identification, effective literacy
education, research, current facts, and teacher training.
Learning Disabilities Association of
America(LDA) : LDA is the only national organization devoted to defining and
finding solutions for the broad spectrum of learning disabilities. A national
parent association with state and local chapters that offers education, advice,
and support systems for parents, families, children, and adolescents.
LD OnLine: LD OnLine is a service of
The Learning Disabilities Project at WETA, Washington, D.C., in association with
The Parents' Educational Resource Center and The Coordinated Campaign for
Learning Disabilities. School partners include The Lab School of Washington and
Arlington County (VA) Public Schools.
LD Resources: This site, produced by Anne and Richard Wanderman, contains a variety of resources for the learning disabilities community.
The National Information Center for
Children and Youth with Disabilities (NICHCY): NICHCY is a national
information and referral center that provides information on disabilities and
disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals. Its
special focus is children and youth (birth to age 22).
Schwab Foundation for Learning: Founded by Charles and Helen Schwab, the Schwab Foundation for Learning is dedicated to raising awareness about learning differences and providing parents and teachers with the information, resources, and support they need to improve the lives of kids with learning differences.

A.D.D. WareHouse: A great
resource to buy material on ADD and LD.
Children and Adults with Attention Deficit
Disorders (CH.A.D.D.): CH.A.D.D. is a nonprofit parent-based organization
formed to better the lives of individuals with ADD and those who care for them.
National Attention Deficit
Disorder Association (ADDA): The ADDA is an organization built around the
needs of adults and young adults with ADD and ADHD. It serves individuals with
ADD and the people who care for them.
Transition to adulthood
Institute on Independent Living:
Independent Living is a philosophy and a movement of people with disabilities
who work for equal opportunities, self-respect, and self determination. The
Institute's Web site invites individuals and organizations to share their
materials on independent living, personal assistance, accessibility,
legislation, peer support, etc.
